Different fits
What's the difference between all of these fits exactly (for shorts)?
Slim
Straight
Loose
Skinny

It means differently depends on how big your thighs?
In principle slim, loose and skinny can all be versions of a straight fit in various widths around your leg. In practice, slim and skinny are likely to be tapered from the hip to the leg opening. Skinny generally fits narrower than slim. Straight will not normally be at all tapered, but some brands bend the truth there. Loose could get wider down the leg rather than tighter/straight.
There is no "exact" difference though because brands use these terms differently and everyone's body is different.
Thank you
Skinny is likely to be tightest, then slim, then straight, then loose. But this can vary across brands.
