borderlands 3 (epic games) save data not synced
I recently got a steam deck and I downloaded heroic launcher so I could play my epic games stuff, but for some reason I don’t have any of my data in borderlands 3. My main pc runs on windows 10 and I was wondering if that’s why my data is gone.

I would but im in college rn and my pc is multiple states away

Try forcing the download. Also verify the save path that is in heroic settings
Do not enable auto syncing or upload manually until you verified that your save could be downloaded
If you upload or auto sync, you run the risk of deleting your cloud save if it isn’t backed up

can you confirm the save path?
the manifest is also time stamped for pretty much today, so I'm now concerned that you may have overwritten your cloud save

yeah i would totally just grab the save from the other machine, drop it in your save folder on the prefix

id make a back up just in case
then do the above
the alternate is you put the save you want in the game on your heroic install and force upload
but personally regardless of how you do it, i would back up locally first

same window you did force download, there's a force upload
also to get the save on the steam deck is like any other computer, just put the file where borderlands expects it
iirc, steam deck should also be able to see windows shares so you can just download it from the computer its on
do not force upload until you are certain thats the save file you want
that will absolutely destroy whatever is cloud saved

i dont have access to my pc wheres its downloaded, but i do have my laptop. if i downloaded it on my laptop via epic games would it still have the save i want?

don't even launch the game or the EGS/Heroic launchers, get into the game's save folder and make a copy ASAP
only if you believe the game already has the save on it. do not launch the game

move the log file to your Downloads folder and upload it from there
it's a permissions thing
also, please be sure to grab the game log and not the global heroic log

The path has been posted a bunch. The pcwiki one is right iirc
its in a folder with random numbers and letters iirc
not at my desktop but last i saw thats what it was
like this is where my saves are if im remembering correctly
this is my saves path
~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/Borderlands3/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Borderlands 3/Saved/SaveGames/<df989f4e...> which works fine for me, though ive never tried the cloud save
in my case as well, the My Documents folder in wine is just a symlink to a folder elsewhere on my user (~/Documents in this case)
because the save data they got is either out of date or the cloud save got stomped
best to get the save from a pc with the current save, and reupload it
yep so the order of ops:
- back up that save from another pc somewhere safe
- copy it to your prefix to the path linked in pc game wiki

There’s a file called profile.sav, but I don’t have anything that can open it

you dont need to open anything
just copy the contents of the folder from one machine to the other
copy all of the files from the machine that has a good copy of the save state to a safe place, then copy from there to your other device..
literally all you have to do
thats what cloud sync does even haha

the fact you dont see the save slots is concerning heh id double check on one of your devices that you had progress on to see if those files are there

I think I might’ve deleted my save on accident, but I have no way to verify cause I don’t have my main pc with me
I was gonna do another play through anyways, so ig all I’ve really lost was the achievements
