also my waist size is 29 for pants (28 with very loose fitting pants), would it better to go with a size 30 or 32 belt?
Do you have a belt that fits? Measure the distance to the hole you use, from the buckle. Add 2. Buy the nearest number to that. (Probably a 32). You can always add a new hole to a too big belt. You can't make a too small belt bigger, and most people need a bigger belt as they age.
How casual are we talking? I'd probably prefer something a bit sturdier for jeans/other very casual trousers but this is fine.
thank you!
jeans, chinos, fatigues, cargos etc
This gets into very minor small details but I'd prefer something without the stitched edge and probably a bit thicker in that context. More like this: https://www.tannergoods.com/collections/belts/products/classic-belt-cognac
Tanner Goods
Classic Belt - Cognac
Perfectly styled for any occasion whether worn with denim, cords or chinos. Featuring a matching leather keeper and metal hardware, the belt will only get better with age. The Classic Belt comes with a stainless or brass heel bar buckle with matching hardware. Classic belt measures 1.25" wide.
That belt looks great
Is there anything you recommend in the $50-75 price range?
There are a ton of great belts available secondhand at thrift stores, vintage stores, ebay etc.
Would you be concerned about wear and tear with a used belt? I could go in person and take a look at their condition
narragansett leathers is in that price range. vintage/thrift is great tho bc the belts are often softer as they've had more use
I've seen people recommend looking for MiUSA Trafalgar belts on eBay before.

Ooh that's a great pick, I'll get a belt from him. The price is right too
Thank you!!
I'll check out vintage options in NYC as well
Cellar leathers has something very similar at that price point. Can’t recommend them enough.

Thank you!!
if you get a good quality leather vintage won't matter too much wear-wise, just avoid "genuine leather"
you can always treat leather if it's a little dry, just watch for cracks
