i've definitely had some weird stuff happen when trying to use the quotes from jq's json output... jq -rjq -r and adding quotes in later shell operations was much better

Try removing /etc/sddm.conf.d/zz-steamos-autologin.conf. Probably didn't get removed because, well, none of the jq checks work

on a possibly unrelated note, Firefox windows aren't opening anymore and then it's saying firefox is already running; the problem repeats even after killing the instances of firefox?

Firefox opened up finally? shrug I installed the ProtonVPN flatpak, which has worked fine on other installs, but maybe their killswitch stuff was causing havoc.

I'll just wait till the fix is pushed, do an update and see where things stand, thanks for helping fix this for me!

I use ProtonVPN myself actually. Works pretty great. Not sure if their killswitch could even have an impact on that. Firefox should have still opened

and nothing seemed to change, but running

rpm-ostree update

rpm-ostree update

is pulling new content. Is this expected?
