Wool shirts (woven button-up, not knit)
What does MFA recommend for wool shirts? I'm not talking about heavy overshirts, but more like regular weight button-up shirts, made from wool instead of cotton.
I know of Pendleton. How is their quality? Any other brands to look at? Is this a good thing to look for second-hand / vintage?

Proper Cloth has some nice merino wool shirts
Viyella is popular in the ivy community but I think their shirts are a cotton wool blend.
Anyone try unbound? I've had a few of their tshirts and had good experiences with them. Haven't bought any button ups from them though

Not interested in tees or polos. I'm asking specifically about button-up shirts.

Yeah, not interested in knit fabric like that.
Ah gotcha
Wool overshirts are great to find used/vintage. Pendleton, tons of brands for woolen flannels and stuff too. I think PTO and/or DWW have articles and info for brands to research.
As always, I like to recommend casting a wide net on eBay first and just searching something like "wool overshirt" to see what turns up after a bit of filtering
I want something lighter weight than an overshirt.
I've seen some good stuff on eBay.
What do you want wool for?
Also I def mis-read "not overshirts" my b
Something a little warmer. Also, I just like the feel and versatility of wool.
And I think pendleton shirts are kinda cool
And in winter, cotton is the devil
I don't really see the point in a woven wool button-up shirt that's not an overshirt tbh
they look a little weird and if you want warmth why not take the opportunity to layer?
maybe you're right
maybe viyella is what I want. warm enough, and they come in quarter sizes, so it looks like 15-3/4 would have a good sleeve length for me.
I’m a fan of brushed wool flannel.
My first experience with it was SLP, but it’s not a super rare fabric. You can buy it at moodys.
(Also brushed cotton flannel but that’s not the question)
