Do you have any pieces in your wardrobe that hold special significance? How come? What are they? Do you still wear them?

Oh man, too many to count. I'm rly sentimental so I hold onto everything
lmao the duality of man
I got a forever 21 faux suede bomber that was my first grailed purchase (https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1142196512034668594/1144703474886508547), my Kapital fleece which was my first expensive piece, a scarf that doesn't go with anything I have but my mom made it, the list goes on

I have a ton of my parents old stuff that's very sentimental. Main ones are my dad's old UConn sweatshirts and this sweater that my grandmother knitted. I wear the sweatshirts all the time, sweater not as much as it fits a little weird but Im happy to have it.
I have a lot of bad hoodies from HS and uni that I just keep because they remind me of some good times. They only come out of the closet when I move 🤣
I have the Ted Baker suit I got married in. Still wear it once in a while. A generic hat with a symbol on it that reminds me of my son, and a hoodie. I do have other stuff I wouldn't want to get rid of, but mostly just because I like those pieces and/or it would suck to have to replace them
My mom knitted this for me in ~1990.
Other sentimental pieces: The suit and tie I got married in, and anything my wife gave me as a gift.
That's a beautiful sweater
it is. it's a very bright white, though, so not the best color.
it’s a wonderful color imo
well, it's sweater weather, so I'll wear it tomorrow.
My ship of theseus guidis. Everything but the the donkey leather has been replaced more than once. Worn to many weddings and funerals. Theres a lot wrong with them but I’ll never part with them willingly.
so cool!! zippers, outsoles and all that jazz? i love that it gets a lot of use
the zippers are the major point of failure, the previous owner sold them to me because the original zippers were blown out (I think it was $30 at my cobbler to get some new ones on) and I'm on my 4th set of zips in 8 years. After the first outsole replacement which was more costly I've had different taps and soles to see what works
that’s unfortunate, i see busted zips quite a lot! but the cost to put new ones in doesn’t seem so bad. 1 zip every 2 years though
I also have wide paddles for feet and the sideways friction undoubtedly has some impact on their low lifespan. I paid less than $400 for my grail boots at the time though and they're still kickin
i’m all about giving reusing and repairing old garments and building a personal history with them
absolutely, I can't wear them as much as I'd like to anymore but I keep them where I can see them everyday. I know its not great to place too much emotional value on objects but I've had some good times in these
I disagree, especially since you’ve used them for many special occasions in your life!
Posted to WAYWT, as promised.
I’ll never part with my undercover leather. I love that thing. I need to re do the liner on it.
These babies from NF Bootmaker. Uppers are my favorite boot leather: J&FJ Baker Russian Reindeer, and they’re made by a scion of an American shoemaking institution. Also, the dude is a homie and that makes them extra special.
I have a hoodie my sister gave me when I went to college. You can almost see light through it at this point, but I still wear it sometimes. Also the first scarf I ever made. It’s an ugly color and pattern, and the stitches are really uneven. I’m currently using it as a table runner on my dresser.
