I did end up plopping in a "suggested" subdomain by default for my UI and for the users that blindly click, it helped. However, I still think it would make sense to throw an API error if the public domain they choose already exists in their DNS.

yeah I wasn't really paying attention to the the message in the R2 UI. Requests from my app were getting Access Denied response, so I thought I need to "allow" the domain somehow.

yea that's fine, it's a module worker.
When you run dev, it prints out the bindings your worker uses, do you see r2's?
You may need to add

preview_bucket_name

preview_bucket_name

preview_bucket_name

preview_bucket_name field as well, and create a separate testing bucket or assign it to the same to ignore it, it'll tell you on startup though if you're on a version that requires it
