Wardrobe strengths and weaknesses - Topic of the day 10/22/23
What are the strengths and the weaknesses of your wardrobe? Shoes? Pants? Cold weather? Formality? Color? Texture? Is there something you're doing to try to fix your wardrobe's weaknesses?

Been marie kondo-ing and realised that I have, like, no plain good quality shirts or other basics that I like the fit of ðŸ˜
So much of my wardrobe is, apparently, colorful oversized boldly patterned short sleeve button ups/camp collars, as well as striped or graphic tees.
Obviously I like those if I have so many of them, that's no crime. but when did I stop having a plain grey or beige shirt? What am I supposed to wear with my patterned pants if all my summer options are also patterned or printed? Many questioned raised and now I have a not insignificant shopping plan after donating a lot of similar or redundant items.
Also all my pants are drawstring apparently, and all my jeans are hideous. Learning anything about mens fashion was a mistake actually

Pants are impossible I swear to god
Def not me with my hands in my pockets for every fit pic to hide all the bullshit with my poorly fitting pants
my wardrobes biggest weakness is that it's still mostly BB/MFA house style stuff, solid basics but not very interesting. My goal is to trim down to a capsule basic wardrobe for the rare occasions I need to look normal, and then replace everything else with stuff I'm more into now.
Kind of simple, but I see so many people doing cool things with ribbed tanks. Such an easy way to layer that I don’t have any of.
More generally, I only started buying clothes, for the most part, last year, so sometimes I’m sure it looks like I’m trying out every trend from the last 10 years lol. So I would say congruity is probably a weakness too.
If I have any strengths, I think I have some great textured knit tees.
when you're new to fashion it's so much fun, just experimenting and messing around all the time
The ones at target are great
Oh yeah I’ve been really enjoying it. Now that I don’t have a garden, it’s taken over my compulsion to curate lol
I was just there last night, should’ve grabbed some! I was looking at the Uniqlo ones too, but they seemed to be sold out.
I’ve only tried ones from Abercrombie and from target but the target ones are very nice. A good weight to the material, good price, long enough to tuck in, come in white and black
How were the Abercrombie ones? In the UK so target not an option sadly
I don’t really like them. The fabric is thinner and the length is too short to tuck in which I always want to do so I’m going to get rid of the ones I have and replace them with target and Scott Fraser Collection ones
I have a few gaps in my shoe options, but thankfully not many anymore, and I'd like more collared shirts with really robust collars.
Other than that I've been feeling really well covered clothing wise so I'm starting to head into the accessory side of things. I'd like more hat options to fit different vibes so that's mostly what I'm hunting for right now. Possibly a few more belts and some weird good gloves but I'm kinda letting those come to me
def lacking formality lmao, and i think i tend to stick within a very safe range with the outfits i wear. i stick to my "uniforms" which isn't a bad thing, but it's not what i want either. like i can tell when a fit doesn't work but it's hard to think what would make it work
i tried on a sweater w/ parachute pants today. worked because it's a graphic sweater. i put a coat on. now it doesn't work. not sure what other kind of coat would had made it work, bc i think some kind of coat would had worked there. but it also reminds me that i really lack outerwear options for like (plain colored) sweaters that aren't streetwear-esque
my pant game feels tragic but just getting parachute pants alone feels like it opened up a lot more options i never realized i could had explore
I only have one pair of jeans and they are at least 2 sizes big on me so it only works well with big slouchy tops...really need a better pair. In that vein I almost feel like I need more BB stuff because a chunk of my wardrobe is secondhand pieces that fit me in wonky ways
But as for strengths, I feel my clothes are all very 'me' which is a really good feeling.
the wardrobe in the pic has no weaknesses, seems goated to me with all those ramones variants
but my weaknesses, as they've ever been, are in layering and in accessories
I wore out a lot so... stuff like no plain cotton tees, feel that. No more blazer etc either. (But that's just an opportunity to get something I actually like!)
Weakness that bugs me the most: no collars sized to my neck - probably impossible for me to wear a tie perhaps hiking gear 🥾
Strengths: Lots of blue. Weaknesses: Too much blue.
Strengths: outerwear, boots, accessories, pants. Weaknesses: shirts and sweaters.
I'm exactly the opposite
