you also get 50k dbs (effectively limitless) x 2GB, it's significantly easier for us to encourage sharding than a single huge db

All of those limits are marked as beta and we’ve been clear that they will increase over time, including on that very docs page.

Are there any other ways to disassociate a D1 from a Page while the Cloudflare D1 API is not working? I have a Page associated with D1, but it's not in use, and I am unable to perform a new deployment due to this error:

So it seems like it is the d1 migrations table. still odd to me that there is so many different actual number of tables right now it says there are 2 tables shows 1 table in tables tab and shows 3 tables in console.

Depends on what you need to do with the data you could create a worker that interacts with the DB for you. But keep the overall overhead of this in mind.
