Desktop vs Mobile

Just a quick question. I have my desktop dashboard set up so everything lines up, but when I switch to mobile, there are big gaps in between.
If I modify the mobile version, will it change the desktop version?

In short, each board is saved in three sizes (small, medium, large) allowing you to customize the layout of the same app/widgets for each one.
