Vegas Pro 15 headache - youtube shorts

Wondering if anyone else has been having a hard time making youtube shorts on vegas pro? problem i have been running into is the images or videos keep leaving a gap at the bottom sometimes, and i have to go through a whole lotta hoops just to get it to look normal. seeing if anyone has a solution or had that problem, thanks.
