Mudrunner crashes after trying to start the tutorial.
After starting the game and accepting the EULA and then trying to start the tutorial, the game simply crashes. I am already using Proton Experimental as the Proton Compatibility is on Platinium.

Install d3dx9_43 using Winetricks
also use Wine-GE-Proton instead of proton experimental

make sure to:
- first change to wine-ge-proton
- then install d3dx9_43 using winetricks
if it still fails share a new log

fixme:d3dx there, can you confirm you have d3dx9_43 installed? it should say what's installed in the Winetricks dialog

maybe try installing different versions of d3dx9 or directx, one of those might work
also, not sure if it will make any difference, but I tried the game one year ago using Wine-GE-Proton7-34, maybe if you can try an older 7.x version, doesn't hurt to try

Not working, I tried it with d3dx9 and d3dx9_42 and Wine-GE-Proton-7-43 and 42. 😦

it seems to be a problem with the game and flatpak, I tried the game both in my desktop machine and in my steamdeck: on desktop it works (I'm not using flatpak there), on the steamdeck it doesn't (flatpak)
try using the appimage or another package (you still need d3dx9_43 installed with winetricks)

if you have the same issue, then it should
but heroic should install it automatically if you have the needed winetricks dependencies
but you can try to install it yourself if for some reason it was not installed by heroic
