I just upgraded my lenovo 512GB to 2TB and installed Bazitte-deck but GameScope will not start and I have black screen on boot up
Mkinda offtopic but anybody have an 8bitdo ultimate (switch version) with bazzite connected and can tell me if the back buttons can be bound and if gyro works?
Athe black screen only happens occasionally on a fresh installation, solutions are to either to temporarily attach an external display, or the following:

- CTRL + ALT + F2 to open a terminal. Login w/ your user

EWasn't aware this was a problem. WIll definitely look into that
EUnsure if it would work or not given it's the Switch version. We may need Nintendo HID. Worth a shot though

MDamn I really wish there would be a way to say " hey this is the 8bitdo controller. here are the extra buttons. have fun" instead of what we have now which is basically "hey this is a generic xinput device in switch mode. its a switch controller. screw your extra back buttons"
Mbut thats a steam issue
ENot a Steam issue or even an Xpad issue (the driver responsible for handling controllers). You can get controllers fully working via Xpad but you need to put in the time to implement support for it. Not the friendliest thing in the world but certainly not an issue with the solution we have
MMaybe I'm misunderstanding something but steam only knows xbox/switch/playstation and steamdeck controllers as native or am I wrong?

MAfter installation it boot into desktop mode it after when try to boot into gamemode I get black screen

Hback buttons work but has to be configured in windows using the 8bitdo application or through android/ios using 8bitdo ultimate software (the controller does not have to be paired with the controller)
gyro works only in switch mode (with dongle beta firmware) or bluetooth mode (which is locked to switch mode)

TI can confirm that is my experience with the 8bitdo Ultimate BT as well
Tspecifically, the back buttons are not separately bindable in Steam
Hyeah this is because steam input offer no way to bind them, valve focuses only on the 1st party controllers with extended functionality (or its just that there is no "proper" way to remap the back buttons on other controllers without reverse engineering every single one of them, which valve wont do)
RJust to add on to this, if MTPDeck doesn't work yet, how do you guys usually back up your things from the Deck?
