I have a simpler quick change system on my motion platform, I have steel plates either side and in front of the seat, and all of my throttles, gearlevers, and joysticks have powerful neodym magnets underneath. I just drop them in place, and the magnetism is just strong enough to hold them firmly, yet easily removable when fully twisted sideways. Here's the underneath of the Rhino with the magnets fitted through the existing four corner holes. I also reinforced the base with a 6mm plywood base plate. The corners are otheriwse a bit vulnerable because of the "dovetail" slots where they interlock with the sides.
