Did you click the dots next to the program in the "Details menu", then add it inside the "Command Arguments" field? I'm not having luck.

Bas @termdisc mentioned, and others I saw once I saw the solution and started reading about the problem... some people report it didn't help save an existing installation.
Bfor me, this was a brand new install that I just happened to start as this version of battle.net was launching
TIt doesn’t fix a broken, fresh install, but I had an existing one that I could downgrade to 14494 which won’t require a reinstall even if you downloaded a bad 14542

IThanks so much for the visual guide! This is indeed what I tried without success. Although I am never getting any kind of actual error dialog, it just silently quits after a second or two. Mine was also a fresh install. Guessing it may have something to do with NVIDIA/wayland
TThis is all moot now. Wine-GE-8-25 addresses this
