for a minimalism wardrobe, can Barbour or trucker jackets fit in?

I’m still trying to figure out my style, but I like the general feeling of the minimalist style of Daniel Simmons and Tim Dessaint. However I also really like certain pieces like Barbour waxed jackets and the type 2 denim jacket. Paired with the wider/straight leg trousers aesthetic, would these jackets ever really work?

Don’t pigeon-hole yourself if you’re still figuring it out. Buy shit you like and wear it and see what happens. Define yourself after the fact, not before.

Olive pants and boots would look good with that jacket. I’d wear it open

I think pant color and length are the problem with that outfit. What I’m envisioning is attached (ish)

Outfit with no shoes isn’t an outfit imo With rare exception

Barbours and type 2s have been paired with straight/wide pants for way longer than they've been paired with slim fits

I wear my type 1 jacket with biggish pants all the time, type 1s and 2s tend to be boxier than type 3s so it works extra well

Hmm but my Type 2 in the pic above is not too baggy/boxy though. Maybe I'll look too bottom heavy with wider fitting pants? Maybe I should return this and get a baggier type 2?

Type 2 from different makers have different profile Some like 316 made it long, and slim Orslow or sugarcane have boxy and crop fit To achieve what you want, either size up for find one that boxy. I like type 2 in a crop fit with wide pants, they look great
