Pairing a Switch NES Controller freezes the display

Hello!

for some reason when pairing and connecting a switch NES controller, the display completely freezes

I'm using bazzite deck and this is in game mode

it freezes only the display first, as I can steal hear the navigation noises

then after a bit, it stops, and stays completely frozen until a hard reboot
