I didn’t even think about that, but coming from IRL flying I don’t think that the “brake emulation” for a hydraulic feel couldn’t be solved by dampeners on the toe brakes?

The thing is, I don't think real toe brakes normally provide any "FFB(control loading)", no? Force is the thing that common flight sim rudder pedals really lack... if shake is needed, IMO "toe shaker" or even buttkick is the way to go

Now for rudder that’s entirely different. But toe brakes - you’re simulating hydraulics that would have no “force feedback” — dampening rods or if you wanna get freaking wild…you can use small slave cylinders for a manual transmission behind the toe brakes for a real Hydraulic feel. But yeah…

it would be cool to get some sort of hydraulic feeling on the brakes though.. the flat spring feeling is not very satisfying and its impossible to judge how hard you're really braking since it doesn't get harder to push the harder you push

I dont know how big into sim racing you are or anything like that but there are companies that make brake and clutch pedals with master cylinders and resiviors to put DOT3-4 brake fluid in. You actually have to service the fluid every so often for moisture and such. Really cool idea. Now I’m sure those could easily be rigged to some good rudder pedals. I dont know if you can get like huskvields cylinders and a replacement and use those or found like a clutch slave cylinder from like a Honda fit or something real small and build up a hydraulic system for the toe brakes.

in driving, where braking is everything, it makes sense to go through all that trouble.. for flying when you use your brakes for about 10 seconds each flight... not so much (But it would be cool all the same)

Yeah I was thinking for flying or rudder pedals if you could get just one cylinder and attach it via a rod to both toe brakes cuts down on cost and maintenance. But honestly keep the caps on and the amount of flying honestly probably once every 2 years you’re bleeding some fluid.

and really just depends on 1: where you are placing it in relation to you and 2: what length extension you use if any

if you use an extension and its between your legs, you may need a limiter so it doesnt hit anything such as your chair or other stuff before it bottoms out

you can still limit it mechanically in software, but nothing beats a hardware limiter in addition to the software limiter

Here's another youtube video showing the available power of the Rhino in MsFS. I was trying to show how much the stick vibrates with engine revs and ground bumps, and then the expected "thump" as the wheels touched down, but my loose grip on the stick was a mistake and the thing leapt out of my hand as the plane nosedived on the grass ! I have mine setup in a life size cockpit floor with ejection seat(with cut-out), 100mm extension, virpil grip. The standard 11deg limiter works great. It is also dead simple to craft your own, either 3d print or plywood.

I read here on Discord that the Rhino Base is compatible with the Realsimulator Grips but in the Manual it is not listed in the list of compatible sticks. Can you officially confirm that it is compatible?

Does anyone here use the rhino with a simfab seat? Im looking for a decent setup with a center cut on the chair so I don’t have to use a z extension. I would also be using a virpil throttle and a set of ace pedals, does any one have any suggestions for setups or even just general advice?
