Fashion Philosophies: How do you pose? - Topic of the day 12/8/23
How do you pose for fit-pics? Do you have a go-to? Do you use a timer, a mirror, or a friend?

I put my hands in my jacket pockets or behind my back or I cross my arms. Sometimes I’ll pretend to scratch my head if I’m feeling adventurous
With little confidence
Put my phone on a timer and run to my usual spot and try not to make a dumb face. it's so easy to just look slightly down and to the side, so i end up doing that a lot. i also have an embarrsingly high number of outtakes lmao. i try to look straight on at the camera though for a few so i'm not doing the same pose every time, try to add a little variety
Awkwardly and with far too much thought as to what my hands are doing. So pockets work well there.
Phone on a ten second timer and just count down from ten in my head, try to breath out so I look less tense and awkward
I pose with "old money aesthetic"
Realistically I try to move between shots, adjust my feet so I can have different posture, fiddle with various things so I can show details in a natural way
Imo the more stuff you are willing to do the more fun pictures you get
Like I love this sequence but none of them are particularly traditional, just result from me doing this and pausing partway through for the camera
I usually just try to stand kinda naturally idk
I do rhink fit pics are more fun when theyre a bit more posed/thought through but usually i just want to snap a pic and have my face look normal
as soon as the camera on me i gain the power to look as dead inside as humanly possible
I do smile knowing full well I’m going to cover my face.
Side not I hate the fixing your tie or fixing your watch or fixing your cuff links type poses
Readjusting your balls
Fix your tie pose is just extremely trad menswear vibe
Young republican vibe
I liked when Gus did it in breaking bad 😂
By far the dumbest moment in the show but I can’t have a breaking bad convo it’s too far off topic
I think playing with your tie pose is fun though
Fixing your tie: boring, fashy
Playing with your tie: flirty, based
Posing is hard lol. I mainly try not to be too tense so that the clothes drape naturally. I enjoy seeing more expressive/active poses so that you can see how the clothes would fit on a person that is actually doing person things (as apposed to standing up very rigidly). Weeg's and bishop's examples above are great. Tunnocks action pic of today was also dope. I still feel a bit awkward doing similar poses but hope I'll get over that some day
I should go back to these kinds of poses. I’m a dancer and love showing lines and letting the clothes move
I like to look at the camera directly, and I like it when others do as well. Not going to pretend like I'm not taking a photo.
its called a candid
If I make eye contact with the camera I might burst into flames
I don't pose, or take pictures, something I'm trying to work the courage to work on
My partner tells me to do fun silly poses and then when I’m done being silly they take photos of me smiling
Badly
