latest = latest
as in since fedora 39 is released, latest = 39
when fedora 40 is released, latest changes automatically to be latest = 40

the other ones "unstable" and "testing" are just what they say they are

so if you are on the :latest:latest tag, you will automatically upgrade to fedora 40, 41, 42, etc

bazzite doesn't allow layering etckeeperetckeeper because it pulls in the dnfdnf package which conflicts with /usr/bin/dnf/usr/bin/dnf. This doesn't happen in a Silverblue installation.

cd /etc && sudo etckeeper initcd /etc && sudo etckeeper init sets up the repo. Then sudo etckeeper commit "initial commit"sudo etckeeper commit "initial commit" checks your /etc/etc into the repo.
