Melvor idle won't launch

Not entirely sure if it's a problem with heroic or the game itself, since the game didn't launch, but heroic didn't show any errors either, but just in case, here is a log for heroic.

Could it be because melvor idle is supposedly native? Although I'm not to sure about that.

how can you install wine on hgl? I can only find options for wine ge and proton ge in the launcher

is there a tutorial for that or something? It's just idk how to install without using the wine manager or protonUp-Qt, and neither seem to have just pure wine

just install it for your distro with your package manager. But I saw that you are running heroic on flatpak, so I don't know if heroic flatpak sees that install.

I had to install Heroic using my distro package rather than the flatpak. I also needed to use wine staging 9.0 to work. A bit annoying, but once you're authenticated, you can remove Heroic and go back to using flatpak. You can then play from your web browser

yup, installing wine staging worked for me, and I'm glad that you can actually play this from the browser lol

idk if it'll be the same on steam deck, but what worked for me is downloading the app image of hgl on their official website, and then using this command to install wine staging: "sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-staging".
Be careful though since it'll delete the version of wine that you install by using "sudo apt install wine", even though you shouldn't have any ploblems because of that, and then run the appimage, select staging wine as shown on Potajito's image, and it should run no problem.

You cant install directly to the steam os system as it is immutable by default

You can enter dev mode and make the os partition writeable, but it will just get stomped next steam os update
