AThrough-hole, you just need a Pinecil and some flux. Yeah, SMD is a lot more difficult. I can do it but still don't have a great feel for it.

Pi do actually use an m1 macbook air for just about everything these days. don't sit down at my desktop until i need the bigger screen. asahi has been great, but i do need hardware encode/decode so until i've got that, stuck on macOS for a lot of stuff
Pit's still like 8+ hours of battery life even without the hardware decoding but yeah, can't beat the 18+ i get on macos
