steam deck controls stop working
Hello I just got the steam deck and used Heroic games launcher, works great however sometimes I get disconnected from my epic games account which isn’t a problem, however I can’t control the game anymore using the deck controls, and the controls become keyboard mouse based only.
I would appreciate any help with this issue.

if you are on desktop mode, hold this button for 1 second and the controller layout should change between desktop and gaming mode

Actually it even happens to me after adding the game to steam

so the issue only happens after you get disconnected? if you restart the game it works fine?
one thing that sometimes happens to me is that the controller stops working completely on some games and I press the
Steam button and go back to the game and it starts working again, but I haven't really paid much attention so maybe it was just a coincidence for mehelpful-purpleOP•2y ago
Yeah only when I get disconnected, i press the steam button still the same.
Otherwise the game runs smoothly
I only tried Sifu
If I restart the game it works fine

to confirm, are you launching the game through a Steam shortcut that was added by Heroic?

Yea, but this issue happened to me before I added the game to my steam library I did it in hopes maybe it fixes the problem

just so you know, launching through a Steam shortcut is the best way to ensure proper controller support for a game in Heroic on a Deck.
