This talks about an effort to add the Wii-U gamepad into the hid of the main kernel.

But the effort seams to have stalled.

It is based on the work done by https://github.com/rolandoislas/libdrc

It looks like https://gitlab.com/linux-wiiu/linux-wiiu

The Linux distro for the wii u have been keeping on developing it.

I think it was mentioned already some time ago, but to be sure - rebasing from bazzite-deck to bazzite-deck-gnome will introduce instabilities to the system and is not recommended? (In other words, if I want to check GNOME deck version as a long time KDE user, I have to do full reinstall?)

Hasn't Gnome been working on that for a few years at this point? I mean, for the sake of gnome users, I hope they do sort it out this year, I just tend to not hold my breath in relation to gnome getting stuff done in a sensible timeframe.

At worst your apps may not look quite right. You can rebase between the two. It's just generally not suggested

if I run the game without Gamescope, no message and the game runs. If I use gamescope, I get that message and the game doesn't run.

The only thing that does is forward alerts to the user. Those are still being logged; they just aren't visible to you

After installing it, I noticed the launchers buttons were all grayed out. Deleted proton files and switched to GE and now it runs fine with and without gamescope

@EyeCantCU another tip might be to get in touch the the Batocera devs or look on their github

Their repo consists of various input solutions to get things like lightguns working like udev rules and other stuff.

Sinden ans Gun4Ir are good examples.

Anydesk only works with X11. Bazzite uses Wayland by default. I've never been able to get Anydesk to work with Wayland.

I wouldn't expect very much from the Wii U gamepad as a streaming device. Even the Switch with Moonlight struggles and under Android, the performance for Gamepass streaming isn't quite there
