How do you use the motor for the collective? Are you getting some kind of FFB there too? I never flew in a helicopter so I have no clue but I'm intrigued.

for most helis its just a 'dumb' axis, but for the HPG H145/H160 theres a release button that you have to press to move it, and it autopilot modes it moves by itself

as smitty said, while it is technically "force feedback" in the MSFS H145/160 helicopters from HPG, it is really only "force enabled" at all other times.. It just has infinitely controllable dampening/friction/inertia and feels way better than typical collective joysticks... plus it vibrates

It not impossible. The ka50 is the only DCS heli I don’t have. Is there any enforcement of the collective trim release in the aircraft in DCS? Do you need to press or hold a button to manipulate the collective?

I would say that no there isn’t. My understanding is that in the real Ka-50 there is a collective lock lever on the collective handle which needs to be used whenever pilot wants to make collective adjustment. When releasing the collective lock lever a new altitude hold referenssejä is sent to the autopilot. This button which sends the new alt hold reference is simulated in DCS but there is no need to press any button to operate collective. Could this behaviour be mimicked with VPForceconfigurator and the hardware tein function if it is not possible with telemFFB?

one thing I've noticed since having the FFB Rhino is that yes obviously the 'ffb effects' are cool, immersive & fun but the main thing I've noticed is that having a peripheral running on motors not cams, springs & clutches is that you can change the feel of the stick so much more & a lot easier than pulling bases apart to change springs/cams/clutches, you just change a profile, also there's no "sticktion" at all anymore, you can have the stick set nice & stiff, with plenty of dampening etc. & get no sticktion, I eventually want all my stuff ffb, stick, pedals, yoke, collective & even a 4th gen jet style throttle unit.

there are sites that sell custom cut parts and have product lists pre set for cockpits that adds all necessary parts to cart, then you just source your own seat
