Ayeah, most modern devices have railguards in place
Mthats why I said it’s mostly a waste of time on the Ally after much experimentation

Myes, it’s a BIOS level restriction
Mso at a certain point it’s gonna enforce a certain power limit, usually when the CPU reaches 95 degrees

Mthe extra jump in wattage by even a few watts are going to be too much for the Ally to handle, even with a very good fan profile. I played around with this a lot, even the hardcoded BIOS limits, in my totk adventure. The marginal increase you can get even with a 53W profile is not worth all the trouble it takes to get there imo
Mthe 30W profile of the Ally still has higher boost limits anyway

Mpartially. the bios is like the safeguard while asusctl can control specific fan profiles
