Hello folks. I need some help with a trivial thing. For some reason the caching rule isn't getting applied and I'm pulling my hair out.
I'm using Cloudflare image resizing and it's making unnecessary resizes, because the original asset cache control policy is expiring in 4 hrs (default)

This is the rule. I have set the TTL to 1 month.

Now this rule doesn't get applied but when I change the value from Browser Cache TTL to 12hrs. It immediately gets reflected the next time I open the resizing URL

The interesting thing is, the cache is HIT/Miss for the same resource but with different size

I read the docs that the IR will respect the Cache Control Headers of the origin server. Our assets are hosted on R2. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I just wanted to drop this here in case a Cloudflare employee sees this, but an open source GitHub alternative has been DDoSed on L3 for the past couple days. Apparently the developer tried to get Cloudflare but the quoted fee was simply not affordable for the relatively minimal profit the website makes. I know Cloudflare is pretty into open source and that a significant number of people who sourcehut attracts have negative feelings about Cloudflare, so I think this could be a good marketing opportunity, as this service is pretty beloved. There's a lot of guides on making your own website/etc.
If you go with a static page, just html/css/js, you can then create a Github Repo and use Cloudflare Pages which can automagically update your website on each commit and has unlimited static asset requests

When I add the certificate validation TXT record, and hit Refresh on the top right there, the page thinks for a second, the name/value block goes away, and when I refresh the page, it shows a brand new value

Thats intended behaviour for cert validation, when you "refresh" it will restart the validation process from the beginning

Hi I have a question about subdomains of subdomains with the Free plan, I know that Cloudflare doesn't provide any SSL certificate for them but can I still proxy them (orange cloud) for other Cloudflare features and Cloudflare will forward the webserver's certificate ? or are just subdomains of subdomains completely excluded from all features and so must be grey-clouded ?

They must be grey-clouded but its because of the certificate. In order for any Cloudflare services on the HTTPS layer to work, we can't pass through the servers certificate, we have to use our own edge certificate that we have control of the private keys for
