elevated minimalist/simplewear brand round up
i guess you can say those “stealth wealth/quiet luxury elevated minimalist” brands, but i’m just mainly looking for stuff similar to above that might be lesser known? maybe like sillage, comoli, james coward, etc?

I would classify none of these brands as "stealth wealth/quiet luxury", so I'm a bit confused by what aspects you are looking for.
It’s weird because every time I would Google brands like these I get the same category of “quiet luxury” but i agree with you lol
Like ‘elevated basics’?
umm i’d probably say elevated minimalist
yeah
Studio Nicholson is probably a favorite of mine right now
Might be in a similar camp
ohhh idk why i just remembered they exist
De Bonne Facture maybe?
yeah
i haven’t really looked into them heavily. i’ll check it out!
I feel like some of Acne's work might fit this boat as well
Though you probably already knew that
Everyone sleeping on studio Nicholson
True. I love their pants. Need some
could probably make a similar claim to post 2020 Craig green
as detestable as zara is, i wish the collab was in the USA as well 😞
great suggestion regardless
Maybe 4S Designs? I stan them so I'm biased, but while they have a lot of loud pieces they also tend to have some quieter ones that focus more on the materials.
4s has some great cuts and material
They also go (relatively) cheap on sale as they are on the "lesser known" side of brands
saman amel, stoffa, cos
so them i’ve never looked into actually
IMO check out the womenswear offerings for some of these brands. I think SN womenswear is much better than SN menswear
ohhh learned about stoffa thru some of your writing haha
Its Angelo Urrutia's brand, he spent years at EG/Nepenthes but 4S is all about cool materials, worth taking a look at I think some things could be up your alley.
also umit benan
OAMC but kinda overpriced imo
Nice materials tho
Stein Design maybe?
Also OL womenswear as well. Ik you mentioned them in the title but I really think OL produces way better womenswear than menswear
dana lee brown, henry’s, comoli, casey casey, margaret howell, evan kinori, man-tle, stein, mfpen
just off the top of my head and some of these i think u already own from
just skim through the brand lists of chcm and neighbour lol
quiet voice uniqlo
Alterior is doing stuff in line with what you may be looking for too 👀
Still by hand, kaptain sunshine, sunflower, YLÈVE are some other brands that come to mind
ngl this thread is great. wish i could change the title to “elevated minimalist/simplewear round up”
ngl idk if they need more sub stack contribution but i’d love to talk about this more
I don't know either but I would read it
I'm positive the mods would not say no to substack contributions
We always welcome a substack write up.
Are James perse/theory/Vince/rag&bone too mainstream/not elevated enough?
aaron levine was doing some stuff for theory for a while, but i wasn't able to go check it out.
@cdfchopper it’s not possible to move this thread to fashion discussion, no?
Unfortunately not.
One more idea: vintage Armani. I've seen some friends incorporate some cool vintage Armani pieces into outfits using many of the brands mentioned on this list, but everyone says you have to take a gamble online when shopping on sites like eBay. Lots of bad stuff that ends up not working.
oddly enough, i’ve been thinking about this as well. i was reading blackbird spyplane’s interview with Jockum Hallin talking about the Our Legacy Workshop x Emporio Armani collaboration, and they were really emphasizing how much great archive there was that really fits into their niche.
