Old Timberlands Repair
I have a super old pair of timbs I don’t wear too often - I think I got them in 2006. The left insole has this raised bump, it’s almost a squiggly S shape like it’s a blob of old glue. It’s super uncomfortable to walk on. I don’t know if it’s an original defect, but if not, maybe the cushioning has just aged or something. Anyway, curious if you all would recommend trying to take this to a cobbler to repair it (is that gonna be cost effective?), or if I should just get a heel insert?

New insole will run less than $10 probably and you can install yourself. Lot of shoe shops sell them.
I think this one is sown in?
most likely decorative stitching
Something like this might do the trick for you unless the boots are tight fitting on your feet already
Just on top of the existing one
I have old Timbs- the insole is not stitched to the boot (it looks the same as your photo). It looks like it may have been glued down originally but it’s not anymore.
Thanks a lot!!! I was able to pry out the insole. There was a big hard glop of dried glue that I was able to chip out, and put the insole back in. Will probably get a new one so I have some cushioning, but it’s no longer stabbing my heel!
Excellent!
