CWhen you edit things in an ntfs partition on Linux, it is likely that Windows will eventually register the drive as corrupted, and attempt to repair it, which will probably work but is mildly sketchy

Cthe solution to this problem is a $20 1TB+ external drive which you should have for backups anyway

Pidk i've never seen ntfs2btrfs go wrong outside of a user going ctrl+c in the middle of it and then going "why is my data fucked"

CIf probably is good enough, go for it - computers are fallible so backups and checksums are kinda the only ways to really reliably keep data intact

CI really would recommend a backup drive just in case. Reformatting a drive in-place means juggling and replacing several million pointers with a totally different organizational system and hoping several trillion numbers end up in the right places without any mishaps
SMan I only wanted to make it so these drives auto mounted and I didn't need to put in a password

CThere are two ways to mount an ntfs drive on linux, but both of them can explode, and ntfs is, more or less, directly Windows-based
SI quite literally just put my drives inside the downloads folder and that worked
