In terminal you can go a directory up of the games folder and type sudo chown -r $USERsudo chown -r $USER

Most games will play fine off ntfs if the compatdata is linked to a native drive. Some will not.
Moving your games on to a second drive, reformatting that drive, then moving them back should work
