N"Instant", same as other helis.. except there is a special toggle in its special settings to enable FFB as for some reason it does not honor the game FFB setting..

RQuestion: using telem is it possible to combine hitting the trim button in the Apache virtually combined with having the stick actually trim correctly
RReason I ask is for SAS inputs and how closely trim works with the different "auto/hold" modes. Requiring some participation with the ingame trim button in DCS on the cyclic
NI don’t fly the Apache. I have it, but I’ve never done more than fart around the pattern with it.

The AFCS implementation for the MSFS H145/160 works well because there is data available to emulate the trimming motors and the developer provided hooks for me to be able to send specific events so the heli knows when a user is overriding the stick position.

CI think the SAS in the Apache is mixed in after the cyclic (and pedals/collective) input, so you as the pilot don’t feel the controls move with SAS interactions

SI think Carlos is right. For the Apache, leave the force trim settings in VPConfig alone and use the DCS keybinds. You can't use curves on your stick axes with a FFB stick or it gets all weird.

CYou can even open the controls indicator and see the SAS authority limits and what it’s doing in real time
SI recommend flying with that on for a while when you first start with the Apache to get a feel for what the SAS is doing so you can stop fighting it and work with it.
CWhen in doubt just hold the trim hat up and it disables the SAS and lets you take full control
CI usually hold trim, set new flight attitude, then release
CAnd fine tune it from there if needed
CThe rhino has really made helo stuff waaayyy smoother and easier
SFFB is pretty magical with the Apache. I flew with a clutched stick for a hundred hours before I got my Rhino. Now all the weird trim stuff makes perfect sense!
CYup, I never even have that so like the trim “ratcheting” I had to do with a normal unextended stick sucked before lol
HYeah, Apaché with FFB is magic. Tap-tap-tap that trimmer and you'll be performing amazing feats. A bit of damper in the Vpforce software is all I use, but keep gain at 80ish percent for centering force
HThough heli's like the Huey have much longer throw so are very satisfying
CThe hind and mi8 are very similar, you gotta hold the trim and tap the trim to have the SAS help you get to where you want vs fighting you to keep the prior attitude
HGreat model's, there's nothing like FFB rotary in DCS.
