The color bleeding is extremely suspect, I'd pass on this one

It’s funny cause on one site I read that that was indicative of a legit one and on another that it wasn’t… 😆

how much is it being sold for?

These are so heavily faked I'm not sure I'd bother buying a second hand one unless someone could provide a receipt and even then I'd be somewhat suspicious.

Like 240 euro I think I’m just trying to find like a spreadsheet or something with all the labels/tags and which year they correspond to and their combinations

That’s a very risky buy; I wouldn’t do it!

that’s only useful for vintage pieces, not current ones

Thank you for this! Yeah that was my question 😆 I have a scarf I purchased in Jan this year at home with everything still on it so imma check that

that scarf is from just before their current rebranding, they still sell some of these designs on their website.

But like idk if that’s a 2024 ‘version’ or not It’s all very confusing tbh 🥲

What about a vintage Aquascutum scarf? they are less likely to be fake

I assume the Burberry branding is important, otherwise there are many very high quality options at much lower prices

Aquascutum’s pattern is almost as iconic as Burberrys; at least in the past when they were direct competitors it’s a glen check pattern, though. so looks quite a bit different

for instance from what I can tell Burberry's Made in Scotland cashmere comes from "a historic mill in Elgin" - so they are made by Johnston's of Elgin in other words Personally I would buy a 2nd hand Johnston's cashmere scarf which could easily be had for less than 50 on ebay. But yeah, won't be the Burberry tartan

I am not really interested in vintage tbh I just love some of their current scarfs but must admit I’m quite new to Burberry in general so I’m trying to learn as much as possible about labels, tags etc etc All their cashmere is from Scotland right?

Scarves are probably one of the most common and easiest pieces of clothing to counterfeit, so I'd be very careful about buying branded items from companies that have a history of being copied and counterfeited. (at least from secondhand platforms that don’t offer a thorough brand authentication option!)

Even the second hand verification schemes are mostly shit It's not like ten years ago, good copies are scarily good

Some things are also inherently easier to fake; synthetic fibres can look almost exactly like wool/cashmere fibres. So if you can't touch it in person you just don't know. the Acne scarves you can buy from Aliexpress look virtually indistinguishable from the original.

keep in mind no matter what spreadsheet you find, a good counterfeiter will have the same resources your best options are buying new or finding an alternative brand that isnt faked as much

Honestly if you want to find out if something is legit, the people who buy fakes would be the ones to ask
