Reviews of TheRealReal.com? Or suggestions of other Canadian consignment?

Came across TheRealReal consignment while looking for some new button ups and looks like a decent site. Just wondering if there's anything I should know before I buy from them I find the used/consignment market for men's clothing in Vancouver, Canada to be quite slim and while grailed exists, can get quite pricy for Canadians.

They're fine just be wary that they charge for returns, so double checking measurements is always a good idea

almost all of my secondhand designer is from trr. for most brands you'll be totally fine but a few brands fit into the intersection of "commonly faked" and "trr doesn't know how to authenticate them" they sometimes have inaccurate measurements and typically cover the return shipping if they are. but not always

Not sur about what shipping method therealreal uses but a general tip when shipping from the USA to Canada is to avoid UPS ground (worldwide express/air options are fine). The way they calculate brokerage fees for UPS ground is cray, adds 20-30% to the cost on top of duties and taxes.

I wouldn't buy anything particularly "hyped" from therealreal myself, but in general they're fine.

Agree with all of the above... also anything 40% off or higher is final sale so check measurements

for buying, its not bad. sometimes they dont know what theyre looking at and you can get lucky with stuff thats priced way less than what it should be. as a seller, avoid at all costs - they take huge commissions and drop prices to move inventory as fast as possible

Yeah I often end up self declaring in those cases but it's a pain in the ass for sure. Thanks for all the feedback
