Slim-Fit vs Straight-Fit Jeans. What looks best for me?

Tried some Straight-Fit Jeans (Next, UK) for the 1st time last week and I really like em. Nice silhouette and like the overall look (I've cuffed em myself in photo). Family 'feedback' have said they prefer the slim, as straight has too much room/material around ankles. Understandable. I also like slim, as suprising they follow my legs shape nicely. And sometimes side profile, the straight fit do look a little...baggy/wide? (again, understandable). I'd be happy to get these Straight-Fit £29 pants hemmed and see what they look like.... But thoughts?

My vote is slim But obviously don't listen to anyone who likes slimmer fitting stuff /s

these pants are nearly identical. both look a bit tight in the top block (notice the fabric pulling?) the only difference I can tell is a bit of extra taper on the slim. the straight are absolutely not "baggy" - it looks like a totally normal straight cut I would not take fashion advice from anybody who thinks that this is "too much room/material around the ankles"

(Thanks for cropping/resizing/rotating to make the comparison easy for us)

Which do you prefer? I would def try a size up in both to see how they look. I’ve mostly given up on sizing jeans by waist, and size by thighs and belt the waist They’ll drape a little cleaner and give you a better sense of the cuts Of these two options, the straight look more balanced and proportional to the rest of the outfit imo

Ye I hate when photos dont do it justice lol. I even zoomed x2 as per advice in #general-chat lol. I would defo not go up a waist. These are perfect at a 30 waist with a bit of room.

But it's a straight shape at the end of the day 😂 Ye thanks lol. I think they are just seeing a major difference between slim vs straight. Which is quite obvious below the knee.

+1 for slim But the straight would be a bit more on-trend, if that matters to you, you can't go wrong with either

Genuinely the difference between the two is almost nonexistent so go with whichever you feel best in.
