Which duffel bag should I get?
I occasionally travel by air for work, and it would be very nice to have a smaller duffel that can fit beneath the seat and double as a daily briefcase. My EDC from Frank Clegg is too small for that.
I am between these three:
1. From Frank Clegg
This has the best handicraft of the three, but it may be the least practical as it cannot hold a laptop well and doesn't have a strap for suitcase handles. The leather of it is beautiful, and it is aesthetically my favourite.
2. Waterfield Designs
This comes with a pocket that I can attach to suitcase handles. It is made of canvas rather than leather. I'm not fond of the aesthetics of this as much, but it seems practical and is the cheapest of the three.
3. Carl Friedrik

The handicraft of this is probably the lowest of the three. I like the design, as it effectively looks like a larger briefcase. I still leans towards the traditional weekender design of Clegg, though.
Thoughts?

Maybe something from Qwestion could work? This seems to be kind of what you're looking for

Weekender Organic Jet Black
With an integrated laptop sleeve, spacious main compartment and 1-for-2-System® which allows you to convert this bag into a backpack, you can go anywhere.
seems like you have a decent budget. maybe tumi, shinola, bally, coach in that range?
monos might also be an option - they have a few size variations on their duffels and totes if the actual dimensions are of concern
Aren't they purely vegan leather?
My worry with coach is that I would be paying for the name.
yeah not really a fan of coach myself, just threw out some brands that i thought would be in the general price range of the ones you listed
that or nylon; if you're set on leather then cuyana is an option, albeit expensive (and gendered? but gender is a construct lol)
if you're willing to go second hand vintage kenneth cole leather briefcases/laptop bags were larger than their modern components and without all the accoutrements on the outside
