Awhere at least for TOTK that lead to them doubling their patreon page

KBleem was a retail product on store shelves and sony lost, you're allowed to charge and that's not even what patreon is

A- they didnt include decryption in yuzu itself and made you run a separate tool with 0 instructions on the main page of how
A- they banned games for the first week of release with a blocklist (where it might be trivial to bypass)
A- they didnt offer a patreon with early access builds that allowed those games to be played prior or close to release

Ain any case, theres a reason the devs settled within a week
GHonestly the main reason Nintendo was able to go after yuzu was because of the early access Patreon. It's less about monetising emulators (Ryujinx does this in a safe manner), and more about how they went about it. They profited over Tears of the Kingdom before the game was even released by charging for an early access build that was able to play TotK. That's a very serious issue
GThe saddest part of all this to me is how Citra ended up as collateral damage, since it's basically the only functional 3DS emulator
OPeople should be allowed to make a living off their work, and IP law can be an important tool for that. The problem is when it’s abused
NThe problem is that IP Law as it currently exists does not benefit smaller creators. It only benefits large entities that have the power to hire enough attorneys to make the smaller creator go away.
