Basic T-Shirt Around $15
I'm looking for some basic plain shirts in the ballpark of $15. I generally prefer more standard or slim fits. I don't need any particularly crazy colors, just some neutrals and maybe a few more interesting ones. Ordering online is basically my only option as I live in a rural area. In the past I've just gone with basic plain Walmart ones, and for the price they've served me well but I'd like something that looks a little more mature.

UNIQLO
U Crew Neck T-Shirt | UNIQLO US
Durable 100% cotton. Binding at the collar helps the neckline keep its shape.
worth spending the extra $5
cool
i like that green a lot
ok so if i want this to be a slimmer fit would it be smart to size down'
I wouldn't tbh, uniqlo tends to be on the smaller side
if you're wanting a slimmer fit I'd go tts
but can always refer to the measurement chart and see how it stacks up to a shirt you already have
alright cool
thanks
J. Crew or Uniqlo on sale.
My experience with the Uniqlo u shirt was that it does run a bit big, on me, at least. I strongly agree that taking the measurements of a shirt that you like and compare it to the Uniqlo shirt would be smart. They don’t offer free shipping unless you spend $100 and I think they’ll make you pay to return ship, too, if you end up not liking them
The U Crew Neck is a boxy fit. The supima tees are slimmer.
U Crew are also thick, hot, and scratchy
yeah i will, things tend to run a touch big on me anyway. most things end up being a little bit too long for my liking
yeah go with a different shirt if you want something slim, sizing down on the Uniqlo U crewnecks doesnt work well. their dry t-shirts are slimmer and also a bit cheaper
I also like target goodfellow & co for cheap t-shirts
yeah the target ones actually look promising
so out of the options of target, uniqlo dry t shirt, or old navy's plain ones, which would you say to go for
It depends on what you want. I like Uniqlo’s over there others bc of the fabric personally but it’s up to you
The Uniqlo dry is a cotton/poly blend. I would personally stay away from that. I prefer the Uniqlo supima, which is $25 and rarely goes on sale, but you can snag for less if you are patient.
the uniqlo u is esp good in white
welp guess i just gotta buy stuff until i find what im looking for lol
If you're near stores just pop in and feel them and try them on. Target obviously the most available so try those and if you like them then just stick with them
It's not really worthwhile to go to the ends of the earth in search of a tee shirt imo
well i totally would, but i live in a super rural area lol
closest clothing stores are at least an hour drive
$15 is a tough price point for a tee. You either have to be patient and wait for a sale, or probably make some compromises on quality.
fair
i should prolly just bite the bullet and spend 25 or 30 lol
$20 is kinda the going rate rn imo
gotcha
try them out and see which you like the most. i would probably say uniqlo of those three but i dont have all 3 with me to compare them, though ive had them over the years. I have two of the target tees from about 3 years ago and they're completely fine quality wise. I wouldn't overthink it honestly especially if your budget is low
if you want 100% cotton then target has some too that are $10-12 I think, or uniqlo supima works for $20-25. I don't think it makes a huge difference but that's just me
Next level is a possiblity
A personal update for those interested: the Uniqlo U medium shirts have been great. I washed on cold and delicate cycle and hung to dry. I would definitely suggest to size down if you’re looking for a more slim fitting style. I ended up buying 5 (3 black 2 white) in order to get free shipping. I think the breakdown was like $17 per shirt after tax.
