Vertical render / quality

Is there any way to control how far down DH will render? Or there is no point and it doesn't affect performance at all? Also is it possible to render the ground underwater somehow? Or the only solution is to reduce transparency in shaders

Solution:
there is point to setting vertical quality. while everything is saved, only as many vertical "blocks" are rendered at a time levv vertical quality, less seperate triangles to render...
