Nhave you had better luck with it on different Linux distros? My microphone works fine on Bazzite with no issues.
DAlso I'm unable to choose between my rear speaker and front panel headphones for sound output too, not sure if it's related

NRight, audio is ever a challenge in the Linux space. My suggestion is looking for a USB headset and microphone or a good sound interface that is compatible with Linux.

NYeah, Bazzite isn't any different at it's core than improvements upon Fedora Atomic. Recommendations for sound hardware are going to be the same for fedora as it is for Bazzite.
