SAre there any plans to update the VKB adaptor for rev C grips. I’m not even sure you can buy grips with rev B connectors anymore.

Bi am really struggling to get the DIY build working, from a software standpoint , i posted about IL2 but disregard that as it may be an excess controller issue that i need to delve into further. I thought i would try DCS , so i v red then reread the manual , i m just looking for simple FFB and axis assigment to prove my stick works . Whree i ve got to
1 In VPC i ve set up a spring , tried end stops and damper, i m getting readouts on all parameters from the right hand side display, X through to Vbus all show dynaimc returns based on stick movement . Bottom right shows Motro X and Y and USB as OK asnd connected . Device Firmware reads 1.0.16 and debug shows i can save and write serttings to memory . The stick feels limp , no real force needed to move it , which is sort of confimed on the X and Y currents which as pulling <0.5 amp . I assume all this is normal
2 Telem FFB (now using latrest WIP version) , ive selected DCS in the Sim setting section , and i get a yellow pause "Sim enabled waiting for data , i launch DCS from Steam , selected multithread, go to settings FFB is enabled , but yellow box does not change

NWith no sim running, do you get the expected results from your joystick? Spring/damper/ whatever you have set up in configurator?
Bno i did breifly but in VPC i get "no feeling"

Nignoring the telemffb issue for the time being... You don't have a pot connected to port 1, so I would set the Port-1 seting to disabled. Your pot on port2 is turned down pretty far, and is connected to damper, so that will be extra weak.
Your periodic effects LPF is set to %0..., so once we do get TelemFFB working, none of the rumble effects will do anything. I suggest loading the Rino default profile thats in the configs directory of your configurator install, redo your calibration and start from there.

Nalso be aware that when you launch DCS, it will send a reset to all FFB devices, so until you load into an aircraft, everything will go limp.
Bok , thanks will try that and repost , i ve disabled both Pots , interesting as soon as i touch pot 1 knob iit showed a return and scales perfectly to 100% whilst give an audible beep , anyway disabled both for now
Nonce you get it working as expected without any sims or telemffb running, we can look at the other issue

Nhard to know how consistent the info is between the two screenshots you just posted.. but given the slider/effect settings you should, at the very least, have spring force. However, in the first screenshot, you still have pot 1 connected to spring gain... in the 2nd screenshot it shows pot 1 at 0%

Nok.. before you jump into a sim and try getting TelemFFB running... try this little test app I built. Hit the connect button, and enable the periodic or constant (or both) checkboxes and hit start.. you can change the direction/intensity, etc... and hit start again to add new effects on top of the running ones, or hit stop and then start new ones...

Bit connects , when i select start i get no response on stick , then after about 3 seconds the command window flashes up breifly with info and then closes , tried 3x now , also with Avast closed for now

Bit crashed a few times , but now i ve got a periodic shake , like a slow motion gunfire
Nthe app is half baked so crashing doesn't surprise me.. but it connects, which is what I really wanted to see (since that was the error you posted in the telemFFB log). It connects using the exact same code as this app.

SI see from a previous message that you were struggling to get your hands on a Rev.C extension in order to make an adapter for MkIV gunfighter grips. Any progress on this? I have 100mm and 200mm Rev C extensions that I’d be willing to provide for research as I’m getting close to the end of the queue and it would be something I’d like by the time I get there 
Nthis is normal.. thats DCS taking control of the ffb device. DCS doesn't send any telemetry until you load into a flight, so it will remain yellow until you do so.. after which it will appear paused when paused or not in an aircraft.
Bthanks , i launched an F86 , had a quick fly , did something that got a violent stick shake but other than that i felt gentle feed back , going to fix to mount and then try subtle changes , etc from then , just out of info , what was the main cause of issue at start , shall i just keep pots disabled , or possibly physically disconnected from board ?
NCouldn't say for sure why telemffb failed to connect before.. could be any number of things.... hung instance.. maybe you had 2 instances up and didn't realize it... maybe your e-stop switch was off, etc, etc.
The pots are fine to have connected, as long as you understand how they work and what they do and how far you want to turn them up... they really just offer a convenient quick way to adjust one setting or another.

ASo I've messed up a bit. I bought an extension on ebay to put between my Rhino and my Virpil stick. It's just a solid 3D-printed lump with the correct connectors at either end. However the socket on the Rhino side is bit loose fit compared to the extension, so it could twist a little in the socket. And since the plug is a solid part of it, that twisted the plug too, which bent the pins.
AI bent the pins back, but now there must be a bad connection, as some buttons always register as pressed, whether they are or not... except if I push the plug to the right and hold it, then it works like it should.
AProblem is that this happens even when I use the old extension I had too. So I suspect the plug on the Rhino end is broken now
AAlthough it does work as expected if I plug the stick directly into the Rhino
AAnyone have good ideas for how to proceed?

JWell if you suspect the mini din 5 pin female is damaged, it probably needs to be replaced. Although I'm not sure why the stick alone works fine. Are you sure nothing broke off into the connector? I'm not sure which mini din 5 pin Walmis used, you may want to source the replacement from him for correct a fit.

You can open up the Rhino's rear panel and access the wiring. You will see the USB wire as shown in the pic. You can try reseating the connector.
If that doesn't work you can check the front side flange connector by pulling it out of the front, pulling down the heatshrink and checking for loose wires.
