i would say put all the dev stuff in 1 container of your choice (ubuntu, fedora, arch) depending on which one you know the package names on or what you prefer or how up to date you want the dependencies to be. then use the flatpak vscode (my preferred way) and hook that to the container (this lets you use different containers for different environments with their own home folders if you configure them that way) https://github.com/89luca89/distrobox/blob/main/docs/posts/integrate_vscode_distrobox.md#from-flatpak
or you can just install vscode inside the distrobox and export it, however i got 3 dev environments so i use the flatpak so i dont end up with 3 vscode installs
Use any linux distribution inside your terminal. Enable both backward and forward compatibility with software and freedom to use whatever distribution you’re more comfortable with. Mirror available...
yeah 90% of my dev time is in the ubuntu container but sometimes i need to make a binary to test directly on my machine, outside the container so i need the fedora container for those builds
Well it is Facebook, also during most of my life I have come to realize that using computers and being good with software is rare, most people know how to use Facebook but installing Linux distros on a handheld is niche for most people, most people probably don't even know what Linux is.
Most people probably use android thinking it's completely original without knowing it is based of Linux, most people probably think macOS is original without knowing it is based on Unix, the very same thing that later on went on to become Linux.
We are a niche category of the world comprised of "nerds" and other stereotypes, but even if only 10% of the world knows about us and knows how to use software like us then that is still more than 700 million people.
You will need to use a software that enables it for you like amd software or lossless scaling (which is better) on windows, decky/steam quick settings on Bazzite has 1.0 inbuilt which gives you like an extra bump in fps depending the game.
I am just straight up using my stuff like i been using it always (- windows bs) and tbh i've kinda realized that at this point if you're not a techy person and you're using linux command line - you're prob doing something wrong
