This will depend on the client/library you're using, to support clients that are rigid in their ways R2 supports us-east-1us-east-1 as an alias for autoauto

This is just how S3 works, it doesn't really matter unless you plan on creating buckets with the S3 client (which in fairness you can actually do)

The R2 APIs don’t do that, but if you are making files public by adding a custom domain, you’ll be able to take advantage of the full Cloudflare CDN

Your bucket is always in one specific place, R2 doesn't have regional replication or regional ingress / transfer acceleration right now. You should place your bucket closest to the majority of your users or where the servers that work on the files reside. It depends on your app needs.

Hi guys, i run into some troubles when configuring R2 with Vercel image optimization. I stored my images in r2 and that bucket connects to my domain, which means it refuses to serve from all other domains but mine. But in my nextjs app, i am using Image component from nextjs that makes a request from, i dont know, maybe vercel's server to do some optimizations for the images, and it is blocked. I try to configure the CORS of my bucket like allows headers that have user agent, but it still doesnt work. Any ideas?

FAST! - trying different services and Cloudflare R2 blows everyone else out of the water. What gives? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy if it's that fast, but it's at least 5 times faster. Is it using the Cloudflare network as a sort of transfer acceleration?

Ah thanks I didn't realize those tokens were unique, I thought they were the same as any other cloudflare api tokens.

Hey guys, I noticed that when I create a presigned URL to upload a file, it takes about 1-1.5 seconds with Cloudflare R2 and no custom domain. Do I need to add a custom domain so it will create faster?

Earlier, I used the third-party software "Cyberduck" to upload files to R2, but unfortunately, it crashed during the process. After rebooting, some files are stuck in "Ongoing Multipart Upload." Do you have any suggestions on how to delete them so I can proceed with the upload again? I have limited information background.

Delete it and try re-adding is a good suggestion. Can you share the domain name you're trying to add as well? Worth checking for a few common misconfigurations like dnssec before jumping to support ticket/waiting for them

The hostname is part of a banned domain. This web property cannot be added to Cloudflare at this time. If you are an Enterprise customer, please contact your Customer Success Manager. Otherwise, please email abusereply@cloudflare.com with the name of the web property and a detailed explanation of your association with this web property.

It's more then likely related to: https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/incidents/wsjmr28lwxw3 (it thinks your account has unpaid invoices, so it restricts you from adding new sites, adding an r2 custom domain is considered a new site)
You could try to wait it out until that incident is resolved, or you could create a ticket and reach out. It's possible it isn't that as well and you are actually banned for whatever reason. Depends how urgent it is for you.

Your particular favorite language almost definitely has some kind of image/file processor library. They’re everywhere. For our Ruby project, we use Shrine for example https://shrinerb.com/docs/plugins/derivatives
