i'm thinking is because astro build converted the image to webp _astro/image.somerandomID123.webp_astro/image.somerandomID123.webp straight away and uses this instead

Cloudflare Pages is for static content (HTML, CSS, JS, images and other such files). It will not run a webserver such as Express, Koa or the likes. If you're using those to serve static content then you can just remove that part and use Pages!

If you're doing more dynamic content you can use Functions (https://developers.cloudflare.com/pages/platform/functions). It will run code on request (so still not a webserver in the conventional sense). This would allow for more dynamic content though especially with KV (Key Value storage) and Durable Objects (transactional data storage). Functions are natively integrated with Pages so are super easy to get up and running along your website.
Otherwise, a good old VPS or dedicated server from one of the many hosts out there is for you.

The only thing that I know of down at the moment is some Analytics such as Worker Analytics & Worker/Pages Tail. You could try running your site locally and see if you get the exception there

Locally works fine, same code as just before it stopped working. I redeployed my astro project through github again - same 1101 error. My general deployment logs look good, but I cannot use wrangler tail yet to see how far things are getting. When I use chrome dev and reload my pages website it gives me a 500 error. Sort of stumped and the red alerts constantly are making me think things are not working right.

Cloudflare fast and responsive again. Cleared cache and same 1101. My other pages sites are fine. Could be unlucky or since I;m new to astro I am missing something. I guess I will work on the local machine and try again on Wednesday. Thanks for being there!

Yea.. you could try adding Sentry/some exception reporting tool or enabling Workers Trace Events logpush, something to capture the error, unfortunate that tail being down makes that nigh impossible to debug right now, not sure when it and analytics will be fixed, it seems some more analytics are coming back online but still not a peep out of Workers Analytics

Currently, this setup is only supported when using Cloudflare DNS.
