Hi Guys, I'm looking for opinions on whether or not giving Bazzite the larger share of my disk partition is worth it. I'm using a Legion Go and read that the Lossless Scaling application (Windows only) is a gamechanger FPS-wise. Would it make more sense to mainly stick with Windows for that reason alone, only sideloading a few indies to Bazzite, or is the impact of Lossless Scaling not as big as mentioned and are there other compelling reasons to go with Bazzite as my main OS?

Happens on slower SSDs and flash drives too. Both with most of the drives I have and also 1tb SSD I use this does happen

It has something resembling FSR3 built in, resulting in framegeneration and doubling fps.

i mean that's frame gen in general, you're doubling the framerate but getting the same or worse input latency

I use Linux because I stumbled upon a comment of microsoft's privacy violations and said "Fuck this shit" and been using Linux fulltime since. Also liteally most stuff just works perfectly fine

@YungJizzle Also Legion Go user here and I have not even made it past Windows 11 setup screen, literally installed Bazzite as soon as it asked for a Microsoft account

Yeah, those are all compelling reasons to consider Bazzite. But in the end, it's a gaming device for me on which I want the best gaming experience I guess. I'm testing the Lossless Scaling as we speak.

It's up to each individual to decide which tool (OS) works best for them in the end. If you have a feature in Windows you cannot live with, then keep the tool around. In my opinion, you have to have a reason to want to change over to Linux. I think all of us here are on Linux for one reason or another that pushed us away from Windows. It certainly doesn't help to install Bazzite and see how well it works for you. Only then can you make an informed decision.

There might be things in Bazzite that truly make you want to keep it around, for instance, that will outweigh the frame gen feature

Linux is also more secure because you can play games that need anti-cheats without giving them full access to your entire system, big W there. Even if Apex stuff isn't EAC fault, for Genshin Impact for example their anti-cheat exploit literally gave you DMA access from userspace on Windows

As for my personal reasons: the primary reason I use Linux is because I want to actually own my computer and not have it run by a soulless corporation that's only interested in collecting your data
