Just spent 50 euro on tiktok ads. 80k views, so about 60cts for 1000 views. However, most people instantly skip. Got about 30 likes and 3 followers. Only 1 comment.

one way to try could be to subvert expectations. Start with a generic video of some good looking influencer, and suddenly switch the message and tone

Also did a facebook ad, way smaller scale. Spent 2 euros, got 200 "thruplays" which means 15sec+ views. I suppose that's way more than with tiktok. Are people in FB more tolerant of ads? They are definitely older.

Just had a call with Reddit (a girl called Maham) about ads.

Seems like a good way to spend ad money. CPC in US is almost 10x that of NL or Sweden, so very important to check! CPC in NL was like 0.10 eur, 1K impressions per euro! Set the CPC cost cap < 1eur.
Targeting students / educational communities / community colleges could work. Carreer planning subreddits.
Videos / shorts are probably really effective! Not a lot of videos in the feed, but they are highly engaging.
There is this "free form" feature which allows for longer blog posts. Seems pretty good.
I have another meeting in 2 days with Maham.

I've also read that they quarterly pay back nonprofits in credits for the next quarter so while it isn't completely free it get's hyperbolically cheaper over time
