how can i optimize my server

i have a server with 8g ram, i wanna use distant horizons but its limited to the server view distance what are the exact steps i have to take to optimize my server and make it work i installed 2.0.2 on both my server and game but still no proggres

i have do that but could find a step by step guide btw idk what a fork is i have tried whole day finding out or where to get that "fork file"
