Brands who have items with lots of “texture”
I’m describing this horribly but these brands, usually Japanese create highly textured clothes with neutral colors. Examples include Guidi, Ziggy Chen, Julius, MA+. Lots of drapey fabrics, use of blazers and coats, very sufu 2015 core. Seems like a lot of linen and wool? Any suggestions for garments like these? Would prefer non-exorbitant pricing but that feels like a reach. I’m in the US.

Any particular silhouettes you are interested in?
For some other shapes outside of the ones you described (Ziggy / Julius) I'd look into a few of the following brands. If there was one in particular you end up liking we can help ya dig further or find other examples.
A few I'm partial to that really emphasize textile "Texture" in varying ways with extremely varied silhouettes and styling
* Album di Famiglia
* Arts and Science
* Evan Kinori
* Casey Casey
* Tender Co
* Jan Jan Van Essche
* Stephan Schneider
* Polyploid

Gonna add in a handful, bear in mind these are v expensive retail but mildly affordable secondhand:
Junya Watanabe and most other CdG lines tbh
Yohji
Uma Wang
Elena Dawson
Poeme Bohemien
Song for the Mute
By Walid
Professor E
Kapital
Rick and Ann D to some extent
CCP
Thank you so much - I’ll look into these. I’d add that I prefer a bit more “edgy” (copout word for monochrome) but I’m hyped to research these. Probably naive to think styles like these exist at mid tier pricing
Also I’m 6’4” so mercari etc don’t work for me :xd:
You could honestly just follow the Carpe Diem line of influence to related brands like MA+, Augusta/A1923, Label Under Construction, Taichimurakami, etc let alone their uhh contemporaries like Incarnation, BBS, Devoa, The Viridi Anne, Individual Sentiments, KKA, Thom Krom, Backlash, etc etc
the list of that brand's influence is endless
Amazing info, wasn’t even aware

Avant Garde Fashion What is Carpe Diem?
Carpe Diem, the avant-garde label spawning the careers of Maurizio Altieri and m.a+'s Maurizio Amadei is responsible for shifting modern fashion.
some good reading here about the brand history and its offshoots
Even though I’m cautious to be reductionist I was thinking if there was a name to capture this style and I guess that’s pretty much it
uhh it can all sort of be wrapped up in the term darkwear especially the slim cut, black or naturally dyed, highly textured and layered looks
Never even heard that term and I was an /fa/ loser. Thanks again this is great stuff
np, it's a bit dated now but still looks good when done right imo
It is, I think part of it for me is that I’d browse sufu and not be able to afford anything since I was 17 lmao
