Tnot a bad idea. i was interested to get to the bottom of it especially if it affects other users too, but in my experience on my mid-range desktop and lower end laptops, i never experience issues with this service. but i know you werent the only one to report it. if others have issues though, maybe ill document a way to disable the service

Tyeah thats probably it. it's kind of a lose situation i guess. we have it on by default because it's a helpful service for saving storage but it also has performance issues for some when the service runs :/
Ti guess the only options on the table to consider is to tell users who have issues with this to disable the service schedule and run it manually, but i would say that we're open to suggestions on fixing this. it might be a downside from the deduplication feature of btrfs though
