EIt’s the data side of things that makes me want to stay away from chromeos
EI don’t do dev
EIn 2 years time I’ve literally only touched Python, a little bit of JS, and some side projects with other languages that aren’t even study related
EI do data engineering which is 90% of the programming I do
EThe other 10% is programming visuals
EHell sometimes it’s not even programming

EI use Fedora Atomic shit because it’s the stablest shit I’ve ever used
EExcept for maybe Mac
AI had brought this up in a different channel, but Atomic Fedora, Bazzite, etc, is very similar to ChromeOS in lots of ways
EFedora Atomic is stabler than fucking android
EAt least on my Xperia 5 II

AAtomic Linux has A/B partitions like ChromeOS. fully containerized apps, but you can still layer on additional dependencies via rpm-ostree
EShit just works. (Except Feishin)
Aand with waydroid, atomic linux basically can do everything chromeOS can do, but better.

EOh my dad and me still have his laptop from 2010 with a 2nd gen i5, now dual booting windows 10 from one sata SSD and LMDE from the other sata SSD

Amy parents are using an old Dell Latitude with an i5 from 2015. still actively used and running perfectly fine with Linux today.
IOkay, dumb question, how much storage space do you think btrfs is saving with compression and dupe remove, just a ballpark?
EMy current laptop is from November 2023, and the laptop before that I bought in August 2020, and the laptop before that I bought in early 2017, and the laptop before that was an absolute stinker of a laptop bought in 2012 or 2013
